The VAMAR Group was formed in 1998 by Mr. Jim Lowe, originally under the name Central Virginia Maintenance Company, LLC. (CVM) until 2016, when the decision to change the company name was implemented.  The name VAMAR represents serving primarily Virginia (VA) and Maryland (MAR), although the company has serviced and continues to service properties beyond these borders, including Tennessee and Louisiana.

About the Owner

Jim Lowe

Mr. Jim Lowe has been involved in real estate development and management for 23 years.  Upon graduation from King College with a bachelor's degree in business and economics, he began his career as a project manager in 1987 with an engineering design firm.  Jim then continued his career with a site construction company, setting the stage for his development and management career.  His experience in design and management has allowed him to maximize the use of a strong, diverse real estate development and property management background, as well as his construction and finance skills.

From 1996 to 2014, he developed and managed 10 retail shopping centers, 3 office complexes and 4 residential subdivisions.  The retail developments consisted of commercial retail strip centers, free standing office buildings, free standing retail facilities and single family residential properties.  Jim has also been a partner/developer in several partnerships, which include nine adult residential communities in Virginia, Tennessee and Louisiana, with a combined total of over $25 million in assets.
